Battle Ball Ranked Mode Preview: Major Changes Incoming!

Exciting news for Battle Ball players! Macklebee has shared details about an upcoming Ranked Mode Preview, giving the community a first look at significant changes to the game before the next competition.

What’s Changing?

🎯 Scoring System Overhaul
✔ Adjustments have been made to address issues from the last competition.
✔ Only tile captures, assists, and steals will contribute to a team’s score and individual rating.

🚫 No More Map Selection or Modifiers
✔ Ranked games will no longer allow players to choose their own map or modify settings.

👥 Fixed 2v2 Teams for Competitions
✔ During the preview, you can play with anyone.
✔ Once the competition begins, teams will be locked in a 2v2 format.

🗺️ Map Rotation During Competitions
✔ For the preview, only Sky Peak will be available.
✔ Once competitions start, the selected map will change halfway through, ensuring variety in gameplay.

⚡ Power-Up System Reworked
✔ Power-ups will spawn at fixed locations at set times.
✔ They will appear as question marks and vary between games.
✔ More power-ups will appear as the match progresses, creating intense end-game moments with bombs, vacuums, and cannon tiles!

🏆 ELO-Based Rating System
✔ A new ranking system inspired by Chess ELO has been introduced.
✔ Your rating adjustments will be influenced by the relative skill of opponents and your personal contributions to your team’s score.
✔ All ratings will be reset to 1,000 at the start of the preview phase.

📢 Better Rating Visibility
✔ Macklebee confirmed that rating visibility has been improved, making it easier to track your progress across the game.
